Lure and kill technology for control of Gum-leaf skeletoniser

This project is proposed as an extension of the Gum-leaf skeletoniser, Uraba lugens Walker (GLS) pheromone identification research. The project will investigate the feasibility of lure and kill approach for direct control of GLS. This approach is considered more suitable than mating disruption for the pest management challenges in both the urban environment and plantations. Here we will develop background biological information and develop an approach to address the technical limitations of lure and kill approach against GLS as well the labour cost.
