Compounds on the Pherobase website are presented in three formats. Gif, brookhaven protein data bank (pdb), and ChemDraw. The pdb format allows you to view and rotate the molecules in 3D and has several other 3D features. To be able to see the molecule in 3D you need to have Java (Oracle) software installed in your computer. The ChemDraw format allows you to edit and copy the structure and paste into ChemDraw or any other compatible document. To be able to use this feature, you need to download the free ChemDraw ActiveX/Plugin Net Users from Cambridgesoft. It is important to note that if you already have Chemoffice installed in your computer and you install the ChemDraw activeX/Plugin you might have problems to view the molecule with Internet Explorer and the browser will freeze. We have checked this with Firefox and Google Chrome and there are no problems if you have Chemoffice already installed. This format works with Internet Explorer but only when Chemoffice is not installed. We would like to stress that this is not a problem in the Pherobase.
